She goes on to explain how it goes through twelve levels of sanding, finishing, and polishing for a flawless look. After that, it's coated with a smooth, food-safe finish that makes it cleanable.

But the truth is, with proper care and use, this product is actually safer on many levels, except for people with a wood allergy, of course," says Mitchell.
