New Video Series on Green Careers Released by Phoenix Learning Group
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) October 8, 2008 -- Phoenix Learning Group today announced the release of a new video series that introduces students to a wide range of job opportunities in the fast-growing sector of "green careers." Green careers offer students and young adults job opportunities in fields that help conserve energy and natural resources, encourage sustainable growth, and protect the environment from needless harm.
The series, created by award-winning producer Michael Dieffenbach, covers eight types of green careers -- sustainable agriculture, recycling, water management, building green, hazardous waste management, clean energy, environmental justice, and green design. All are part of new and growing industries that address some of the most challenging problems that today's world faces. The series gives young people a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to work in a variety of jobs in each sector. In on-the-job profiles, students meet entrepreneurs, scientists, field biologists, engineers, managers, and interns. Many of these professionals are young and are finding success at different levels of responsibility in fields that are exciting and personally rewarding.
The series provides valuable insider information on the challenges and opportunities of the positions it profiles, and the educational requirements for entering various fields. Young people are encouraged to take advantage of internships and part-time jobs to get hands-on experience while pursuing their studies.
Green careers are a high-demand job track for students from a wide range of academic disciplines and with a wide variety of interests. By becoming stewards of our environment, young people who choose a green career can help solve the greatest problems of our time while finding work that matches their personal interests and values.
The first four titles in the series--Building Green, Recycling, Water Management, and Sustainable Agriculture--are being released on Sept. 29, 2008. Four more titles--Clean Energy, Hazardous Waste Management, Environmental Justice, and Green Design--will be released in January 2009. Individual programs are available on DVD or VHS for $89.95 each. The first four titles are offered at a special price of $ $323.82, which is 10 percent below list price. The complete series is being offered at a 15 percent discount of $611.66 (payable in two installments, with the second payment due on delivery of the last four programs).
