Live Green Connecticut! Announces Two Major Additions
(PRWEB) June 30, 2010 -- Scot Weicker, founder of Live Green Connecticut! announced today that Dr. Robert Ballard, the world renown oceanic explorer and historian, will headline the speaker’s gallery at Live Green Connecticut! this fall. Dr. Ballard, discoverer of the TITANIC, will speak about ocean exploration and the need to protect our oceans and their natural and cultural resources. Weicker stated: “Our oceans are the topic of discussion when it comes to the environment. You don’t get more interesting than this: the TITANIC, oceanic exploration, and the environmental impact of everything happening right now in our oceans at this moment. I am honored to announce Dr. Ballard’s participation in Live Green Connecticut! but even more than that, I’m personally looking forward to his presentation.” Weicker continued: “Dr. Ballard will tie everything together with our own Long Island Sound. Here is a man who has literally sailed the seven seas and, with over 3,000 people expected to attend the festival, Dr. Ballard will have a captivated audience.” It was also announced that Daphne Dixon, a regional expert on sustainable and green living will co-chair the festival with Scot Weicker. Weicker stated “ I’m truly honored to have Daphne co-chair Live Green Connecticut! Daphne brings with her a wealth of sustainable knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to the environment and a better quality of life for everyone.” A resident of Fairfield, Dixon is currently the host of Town of Fairfield Green Drinks, co-host of Stamford Green Drinks and Bridgeport Green Drinks, founder of the Fairfield County Green Faire and Green Coast Awards and involved with many other sustainable initiatives. She has over twenty years of public relations, and event planning experience. Dixon stated: “I am very happy to be involved with Live Green Connecticut! This festival is a wonderful opportunity to bring people together, highlight and celebrate eco-friendly living, sustainability and provide information and resources to help educate the public on how to embrace solutions to the many challenges that we face. Live Green Connecticut! will be an event that the whole family will enjoy!” Live Green Connecticut! will take place at Taylor Farm Park in Norwalk, Connecticut September 18th and 19th.
